This coat has been on my mind since I saw it on the Marc Jacobs runway in 2013 for the Spring 2014 collection. Once it hit store I wanted it oh so badly but at the moment could not afford it. The iridescent watermelon shades are so unbelievably beautiful. Naturally the coat sold out before I had the opportunity to purchase it so that’s when one of my favorite sites comes in, eBay. I knew that one day someone was going to want to sell this beautiful coat and I would be ready to snag it once it did. Come the end of 2016 and finally this beautiful coat popped up in one of my searches. My size, my price point, the Buy It Now button couldn’t be pushed any faster. The fit is perfect as well as the condition. It was meant to be.
Because of the nature of the coat I wanted to keep the rest of the look very simple. Basic pieces were truly the way to go since I wanted to go for a more casual look. I know, it’s very hard to use the word casual when 2/3 of my body is covered by iridescent leather but there are definitely ways to tone down extravagant pieces. When we get winter like days in Houston I bring out the black turtleneck. It’s my go to layering piece that goes with everything. My new favorite way to style this turtleneck is under my summer dresses. It’s a great way to wear summer pieces year round. Classic black aviators and black flap bag were necessary to keep the casual vibe going. To finish the look I wore my Stella iconic platforms.
