Wear denim on April 29 with a purpose

Did you know that April 29 is Denim Day? I didn’t, but now I know and I have to take part on it. #DenimDay was created to help bring awareness of rape and sexual assault. The campaign started when the Italian justice system overturned a rape conviction because the woman was wearing tight jeans and somehow convinced the court that she must have helped him take off the jeans therefore implying consent. The day after the overturn women in the Italian Parliament went to work in jeans in solidarity for the victim. Unfortunately this is real life and not the first time victims do not get the justice they deserve. So today, April 29 I proudly wear denim and stand with everybody affected by this.
Make sure you hashtag #DenimDay on the gram and show your support. You can also donate to the Denim Day foundation here.

I had no idea about Denim Day! Note to self for next year. What a great awareness cause. Super cute outfit!
